Designed by the lighting experts at Whitegoods, the cool, new Light Meter App is simple to use and extremely intuitive – and is now available for free download.
This unique app can be used to measure light levels and will provide guidance on the appropriateness of that light level for different environments or tasks: i.e., “ideal for reading printed paper of high contrast” or “ideal for performing visual tasks of low contrast or very small size.” This dynamic information is shown on screen as light levels change, allowing the user to compare what they see to other applications.The app can be set to display results as lux or footcandles, depending on user preference. There is a timer function for hard-to-reach spots where the display is not readily in view.
